  • Self-Injury Awareness

Whether you realize it or not, you likely know someone who self-injures. How do you recognize the signs? And once you have, how can you help? This workshop not only covers basic information about self-injury and misconceptions, but it equips you to be on top of current trends and resources. Particular focus will be on how you can support and encourage in ways and that keep God involved and you from getting burned out.

  • False Intimacy vs True Intimacy

Let’s talk about the crazy, distorted version of sex that is in our faces every day. How do we regain a truer picture of what it’s really all about–sex the way God intended it? This workshop will take a look at the beauty and timing God had in mind, and then once we’ve grabbed a hold of that picture, how we live it out . . . as examples to those around us and in committed way within our own relationships.

  • Virtual World vs. Real World Living

The Internet is here to stay. It’s a great tool, a great place to hang out. But it can also be a huge trap. This workshop will focus on ways teens and young adults can create balance with their internet use. A key focus will be on how to bring our relationship with God into every area of our lives to help us move toward fuller lives, no matter what we’re doing–online or off.

  • C2LF Topics

Choose 2 Live Free is Jan’s blog site for teens to twenty-somethings and for those who work in the community or in ministry with youth. “I choose. I choose to live free.” is the theme statement of the blog, and the posts tackle topics and issues that address how we can “live free” the way Jesus meant it in John 8:36 and in other scriptures. What does it look like to live it out in the face of cultural pressures and personal struggles and pain? How does it shape your faith personally and in context of all that matters deeply to you?

The following speaking topics include those themes having to do with a lifestyle of choosing to live free (C2LF).

  • I Choose. I Choose to Live Free (teens)
  • Encouraging a C2LF Lifestyle (teens who are mentors and leaders, youth workers, parents)
