It seems to take a study or survey for us to believe the obvious. Recently there were two we all should pay attention to.
Monday, November 3rd, RAND corp released its study that showed a link between a teen’s exposure to sex on TV and to teen pregnancy.
“Teens exposed to high levels of sexual content on television were twice as likely to be involved in a pregnancy in the following three years as teens with limited exposure.”

Also recently 10,000 teens anonymously participated in a survey through the Tyra Banks show, focusing on sexuality, sexually transmitted diseases and teen pregnancy, drinking, drugs and violence among females.
Some of the results from a Today/MSNBC November 14th article:
- On average, girls are losing their virginity at 15 years of age.
- 14 percent of teens who are having sex say they’re doing it at school.
- 52 percent of survey respondents say they do not use protection when having sex.

One other: A Christianity Today 2003 article, The Sex Lives of Christian Teens, clearly showed that Christian teens are not exempt.
Our teens are important. We need to invest time into the lives of those we know and encourage them toward a solid and hopeful future–one based in a morality and a faith that has substance.
Two suggested resources:
Designer Sex, by Philip Yancey–A small but powerful booklet published by Intervarsity Press Books that you can give to your teens (comes in pack of 5).
and
Seduced by Sex, Saved by Love–A Journey Out of False Intimacy–unique, raw, and real, this second book of the Live Free series tells the true story of Suzy, whose search for acceptance and belonging pulled her into the grip of the pressures, lies, and confusion of today’s message about sexuality.

Thank you for your article. There are a lot of sites out there that don’t make as much sense about pregnancy. I’ve got a similar website myself, so will keep popping back to see what else you’ve posted.
